There is no greater challenge than being a parent.  We don't get a manual and there are very few training programs.  Almost all of us tend to repeat what our parents did.  Many of the ways they parented were quite good but all parents make many mistakes and, of course, some many more than others.  I find that helping parents improve their parenting skills is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

When parents feel overwhelmed, they tend to do one of the following:  ignore the behavior, yell, hit, overreact, or punish too lightly or too excessively.  There are much better solutions for parents willing to work on their parenting skills.

I would like to help.  Please call me for a consultation if you are interested, (301) 816-8985.
